Pauline, a Nyoongar woman, was born on 27 May 1959 and grew up in Gnowangerup, Western Australia. Like so many of her generation, as a child she was removed from her family and placed in Roelands Mission near Collie. In the late nineties she completed formal art school training. A few years ago Pauline moved to Alice Springs. Since 1997 she has exhibited throughout Australia, in both major state and commercial galleries.

Barney Ellaga was born about 1941 and is a senior law man within his Alawa community. As an artist, Barney conveys what is to him traditional in a most genuine way, through personal iconography and a feeling for colour drawn from instinct, inherited knowledge and love for country and culture.  In response to the land of his birth, Barney uses extraordinary colour complements to contour Alawa terrains. His fresh and dynamic approach gives impact and power to these abstract pieces and, as a consequence, his work is in high demand.

Heather paints under her dreaming name Anjolu, which means ‘clouds’. She was born in the bush under the shelter of a tree, the traditional way, in c1954. As a young girl she lived at the Presbyterian Mission at Mowanjum, via Derby, WA.

Her paintings reflect her passion for the landscape of her country, her rich cultural heritage and her personal memories of growing up at Mowanjum.
