ILC Director delivers SKM Reconciliation lecture

Today, on the 6th anniversary of the Apology to the Stolen Generations, ILC Director, Prof Megan Davis delivered Sinclair Knight Merz's (SKM) annual reconciliation lecture to staff across offices in Sydney and Perth.

As a member for the Expert Panel on Constitutional recognition, Prof Davis took SKM staff and affiliates through the Panel's five recommendations, which include removing section 25 (which says the States can ban people from voting based on their race) and removing section 51 (xxvi) (which can be used to pass laws that discriminate against people based on their race). 

Prof Davis explains each of the Panel's recommendations, and how they came to these conclusions following months of community consultations across Australia in an informative and easy to understand way.
