Megan Cadd
Megan Cadd is a Yorta Yorta and Wotjabaluk woman through her mother’s people. She has been shortlisted in the Victorian Indigenous Art Awards in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Megan has exhibited in group shows and held her first solo show at the Koorie Heritage Trust. In 2010, Megan curated a large exhibition of seven established and emerging Victorian Indigenous women artists.
Currently she is preparing for her first international exhibition to be held in China. Her practice includes drawing, painting, installation, sculpture and collage. Megan has collaborated on public installations and community art projects. Her work draws on the beauty and diversity of the land and universe, history and culture. Inspiration comes from her Aboriginal identity, Ancestors, family and community and she is particularly inspired by her Grandfather who painted boomerangs and spears in the 1950s to support his family. Megan combines her lifelong art practice with raising a family, spiritual healing, community arts work and being an active part of her community.
